Solar panel defect

Howdy

I have a couple of solar panels, about 6 years old, with PV cells deteriorating. Attached photos show some of these - it is below glass surface and wasn't there on installation.

Any ideas on what has caused this & how much it will (if at all) change efficiency of panels?

I have emailed solar panel manufacturer for their opinion - awaiting reply....

Thanks in advance Brett

Good luck if a chinese import. If a name brand it will be interesting to see the manufacturer's response.

I think that is what is referred to as "snail trails". A google search will get you more info. This thread may help (I did not read it):

Re: Solar panel defect

Chances are the performance is not affected. Have you tested them?
Most solar panels have at least a ten year warranty against defects, go back to the vendor and get them replaced.
