Replacement lens for Aqua Signal f/40 tri color?

I would have put this in the rigging thread but I don’t really know what happened to that.

does anyone know where to track down a replacement lens for this?

all over the place online it seems to be out of stock.

Has anyone fashioned their own new replacement out of something else?

Mine is ok, but pretty crazed.

might be nice to service that while the mast is down

I forget where, but I looked for 1 few years ago and it was so close to just getting unit that it wasn't worth it.

OK. The unit is between 430 and $650. So I was trying to see if I could just replace the lens.

Another unit from a different manufacturer would be a good way to go.

Could anyone recommend a tri color masthead and anchor light that they really like? LED? Not too expensive? Good enough for a 50 foot boat?

You'll likely have to find something else as the Series 40 Tricolour Anchor light appears to be discontinued..

maybe the series 34 LED?

I was taking a look. It sure is hard to keep up. Lol that one’s gone and canceled as well.

I might just keep the old one. I’m sure the Mast will need to come down again within the next couple years. I will replace it at that time

I don't see a reason why the light needs to be all one fixture. You could always make a bracket to mount multiple lights for that purpose without them blocking each other. That might give you better choices of lights to use.

Speed mostly. There is an aqua signal up there already with mount.

The one in the pictures

Re: Replacement lens for Aqua Signal f/40 tri color?

My 2 cents
I worked with acrylics for quite a few years, hazing and scratches can be polished out with sandpapers and wheels. A plastic fabricator near you shouldn't have any problems.

Crazing, of course, are small cracks and very different than haze, fog, scratches...etc.
I haven't seen crazing much in plastic Nav lenses as much as I have with flat window acrylics and poly's... not sure you can get rid of crazing, but, if they were polished and coated they should be good for a few more years even with small cracks.

that’s about $200 worth of two cents. Thank you.

I will do just that. Give them a little polish and just keep them as is. There’s just a little bit of crazing.

I didn’t want it to fall apart over the next year or two

Just a quick tip, don't use any alcohol or acetone, or anything like that on your lens, they will immediately craze and be ruined.

Use only products made for plastic, like Novus (this is what I use), McGuires, or even sandpaper starting at like 300-600 and moving up to 2000

Bin it and buy something decent - like a Hella https://www.hellamarine.com/en/produ...mps/tricolour/

I had constant problems with my aqua signals, crazed lens and dodgy connections.

You could try calling defender. They have been helpful special ordering stuff they don't stock as long as it's a brand they carry. And they do stock the lens for other aqua signal lights.

You could try to buy a complete good used one.
Lots of people convert to LED, so they should be available.

Here is one I found within 50 seconds in Germany for 50€.

Aqua signal is getting out of the recreational boat business Many products discontinued however eBay still seems to have a lot of used units listed
