How to remove Aqua Signal Series 41 lens?

I need to replace the bulb in my red/green nav light but can't figure out how to get the lens off. This is an Aqua Signal Series 41 , A-16 light.

The A/S pdf suggested a screwdriver inserted from the bottom, maybe.

I must be missing something obvious. It's just a lightbulb.

remove the long screw from the front, towards the bottom ?
