Marine Electrician in Baltimore area?

We are transients about to embark on the Great Loop heading toward NYC, currently in Baltimore. Our brushless, diesel Entech generator (Farymann motor) may need to be replaced. We have had no luck in two days trying to find someone to come out to diagnose, or repair it. We believe there may be an issue with a diode. It runs well, but generates no power. We have flashed the windings and replaced the capacitor.

If you can suggest an individual or enterprise that might help, please do!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Marine Electrician in Baltimore area?

In my book, the best marine electrician in the area is in Annapolis- Andy Fegley, he owns a company called Yacht Electronic Systems. He might be willing to take a drive to Baltimore, but he is often booked a couple months out in advance. Still, worth a call. If he can't help you, he might have a name for somebody in Baltimore for you. He is a very nice guy.

Re: Marine Electrician in Baltimore area?

Tidewater Yacht Service in Port Covington is extremely competent and has an excellent reputation in the area. I and my dock mates have had work done by them and it is always first rate. This includes electrical work. They are planning to close at the end of the summer (another issue and no fault of them) but as far as I know they are still going now. They are right in B'more also.

If you don’t mind going across the Bay; up behind Rock Hall on the Chester River is “Long Cove Marina” The Deckleman’s can handle what you require! Very honest and competent.

Thank you! There name keeps coming up. They were one of the few to return my call and at least tell me that they are completely booked until the 27th. We'll be long gone.

YES is closed on weekends. Andy is my neighbor and if I see him this weekend I'll tell him about your plight. You might have to come to Annapolis to get serviced this time of year.
