Hi - I would recommend Ocean Refit in Mallorca (C/ Can Rosselló 6A – Pol. Ind. Son Oms – 07199 Palma de Mallorca). They replaced the teak deck on my classic schooner and did a fantastic job for what would have cost twice as much in the USA. They were pleasant to deal with, some workers were sailors themselves and their work was neat and clean.
Hey.. good to hear from you.. hope you have a Grand Christmas back home..
Yes I know Faro well.. no marina's but there's some good spots to anchor.. more on the Olhau side of the lagoon. Watch how you enter as there's a dredged channel with shallow sand bars either side.. follow the chart line and don't try to cut corners.
There's a bit of a race at the entrance when the ebb is going so there'll be a bounce and the current will try and push you to the side.. when you get to the end of the entrance channel hang right and follow the channel along Isla Culatra.. the anchorage is just past the ferry dock on the island to stbd.
While I would love to hear about your IP37, I have to confess. I won't be buying it. I have had the 32' and sailed a 40, 47 and a 52 foot boat all for at least a week aboard. The 40' was as small as I would be willing to go. Also, I am not yet in the market, have to wait until I am a bit closer to retirement, as I am in Iowa, so can't keep it close to home. Neil
