Connecting solar to batteries

I have bought solar panels. Is there any reason I can not connect them to the house terminal of my battery switch. This would save running wires the extra 20 feet to the batteries. I do have controllers for each panel.

Re: Connecting solar to batteries

Connecting to the switch if fine, just make sure that you install a fuse in the positive wire just before the switch. The size depends on the wire size: 12 gauge use 20 amp, 10 gauge use 30 amp, etc.
