Most show more gain from the MPPT process than is really occurring if you measure it with a calibrated meter.
However even if the calibration is incorrect it will show when the panel output is low perhaps because the panels are dirty, or there is a shadow (that might be removable)

I agree, my point was if you really want to know what is going on you need a proper battery monitor.
