Can I Charge with Charger and Alternator at the Same Time?

Hi All

I recently installed a 6kw gen and use it to run my watermaker and charger etc. Often I use it while underway....is it OK to charge with my Balmar alternator Maxcharge mc 614 regulator and run my Charles 5000 charger at the same time?

wont hurt but both wont be at max

Sounds good...I did run both and had my shunt showing 56 amps...usually 40 if just Balmar and about 25 if just the Charles charger , so I guess if running the gen anyway I might as well turn on the Charles...thanks!
