Re: Batteries charging daily but still decreasing charge overnight

I have 2 domestic banks, one for navigation and other important stuff, the second for A/C, washer, etc., 2 starter batteries, a 750W solar array, a 400W wind turbine, and two alternator from the two engines.
It all works perfect together. The two BS160. I hope you can open the attached PDF. If not, give me your e-mail, I'll send the drawing to you.

Re: Batteries charging daily but still decreasing charge overnight

Well it's been a few days now and the batteries are consistently getting down to 12.43v each night. I'm not sure if there is an under load state of charge table available for the batteries but even comparing with the open circuit values we're only using about 25%.

We're still being quite frugal while we see how they settle and how much difference there is at anchor with solar alone - we'll try and fit an overnight sail in soon to see how that goes. Also have a battery monitor on order so will get that in soon. We'll then review the whole setup when we haul out in October.

Thanks to everyone for the contributions to this thread.

@Wolfgang - I'll PM you my email address
