Foul food is no fun but better losing some food than an expensive battery bank. And if refer pulls batteries down and bilge pump is needed? That would be bad Karma!

Not good to have a system which would restart itself and refreeze food which may have been thawed and gone bad, looks like a recipe for food poisoning. A few low sun days then days of plenty could be a culinary and digestive disaster?

Re: Automatic electrical shutoff based on V sense

Programmable voltage sensing relays are very useful in this and other applications. I use one to define the charge parameters for the bow lithium battery which is of a different type to the house lithium bank.

Re: Automatic electrical shutoff based on V sense

OK, as the OP, if I was leaving the boat for 2 weeks I wouldn't be leaving many perishables, I was thinking more like beer. So if the refridge kept running with no incoming charge to the battery, my thought for having a device like this is better to have to buy another case of beer vs. Replace a thousand dollars of batteries.

AL, this programmable voltage sensing relay is what I am looking for, just need to see the cost. Or the blue seas version would work well too.
