Anyone got "Sun Force" Wind Generator?

Hi,

I am considering a "Sun Force" 600 Watt Marine Wind Turbine and was wondering if anyone has one that may be able to report on how they are liking it, how much noise, and if it generates well in low wind speeds.

Etc.

Thanks,

Mark

The price is good, it's very quiet and it's huge. It starts putting out under at under 10kts but it seems to stop at about 30kts even if your batteries are low. In our installation, the VHF freaks out from the wind generator AC when the wind really blows. The noise in the HF is normal.

Re: Anyone got "Sun Force" Wind Generator?

I wandered off to Amazon to figure out what a 'good price' was (im in information compilation mode), and came across these reviews which may be useful... More than one mention of them burning out in high wind.

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Sunforce 45444 600W Wind Turbine

I sit here with three within 80 feet of me.

They are pretty quiet form my perspective.

One of them has a pronounced wobble. I asked the owner what he thought of his and he said that when we bought it he put it down below for several months before getting around to installing it. When he pulled it from the box the back end had slightly distorted which he assumes was caused by the heat in his enclosed cabin.

Re: Anyone got "Sun Force" Wind Generator?

I have been using the Sunforce 600w unit for 2 years now, no issues whatsoever.
Yes, it's a little bigger than some other units, but, relatively quiet and runs smooth.
You'll need at least 14 knots for descent performance.
The electric Brake function works well.
If you have the space, I would recommend the Sunforce 600w.
