Deck Hardware for spinaker - Lagoon 440

I'm new to the forum, so New Year's Greetings to you all.

I am about to install the deck hardware for a spinaker on my 440 and would welcome input from the experienced here on the forum. Specifically, I am keen to have recomendations as to the block size/load, for both the "stand up" blocks on the bows as well as those either side at the stern assuming spi size of 130-150 m2.

I guess at a minimum, it is two "stand up" blocks and two std blocks, but perhaps another two at the amidships cleat.

I am also interested to know how one manages the guys and sheets at the jibe, bearing in mind the presence of just the std. 2 X outboard (genoa)winches and no capacity to jam or clutch off either a lazy line or a load bearing sheet/guy on transition (load to lazy, lazy to load).

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Welcome aboard!
Here is a web site that is really helpful to start.>>> How to Fly a Spinnaker Be sure to click onto the "NEXT" pages.

But I'm sure there will be others to jump in as the time changes to W. Europe & East coast of the USA.

Re: Deck Hardware for spinaker - Lagoon 440

Hi and welcome to the site, we are back in Australia till early February rejoining our boat in Croatia after the xmas break.

The blocks are the same ones used for turning blocks at the base of the mast, ours are Harken, you just need the four blocks, do you have the prodder kit with furler etc?

I can get you pic's when i get back but i'm sure someone on this forum will help before then.

Look for IMPI on the forum i'm sure he runs a kite..

Cheers Frank.

Almec: Thanks. Yes, I've spent some time on Twixter's site - lots of good information there, including spi, parsailor info, but sadly no data on the hardware.
Delmarrey: I'll look at the website, when I get some bandwidth (I'm in BC skiing at present - great snow but dial up internet speed....)
Frank: I'll check out my existing turning block for the screecher and replicate fore and aft. Yes, I have the prodder for the screecher. Planning on a symmetric Spi so will teather to the bows.
Thanks for your help, all.
Malcolm.
