450: Frigonautica handles

I'm trying to replace both interior fridge and freezer handles. I have the replacements, but don't see how to remove the old without messing up the stainless. There's a plastic cover that comes off and reveals 2 screws. Then there's a thin plastic molding that doesn't want to pop out. Worse yet it looks like the handle is sandwiched under the stainless.

Anyone complete this task? Maybe I'm missing the obvious.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, we've replaced both of ours on our s/s units a few years ago. Its not that difficult. They are partly wedged in and will snap out easily after removing the screws.

Did you ever find out how to remove the handle - I have the same problem and the fittings will not snap-out for me.

They are available from:
Sydney Marine Refrigeration - jg@sydneymarinerefrigeration.com.au
Think you can order them through any Frigonautica agent worldwide though.

Both the new and old style handles are plastic cra!. My new style handle fell apart after a small amount of use. I rebuilt/reinforced it with a 2-pot epoxy glue and it will not fail again.
