Seattle to SF or LA in July

We are leaving Seattle for California in early August (goal August 12) and need some extra hands. Our boat is a 36' S2 11, recently inspected, proven, solid design and well updated for offshore sailing. We would prefer crew with previous offshore experience. Please let us know if you can come up early to help get her ready.

Greetings. She is so fine looking. Is there room for a couple? Sorry to say, no sailing experience.
We can come early and assist. Would love to come and visit with you and go have some lunch on us just to say hello and confirm you are liven! Go for your dreams or set on the couch.. We will be in Seattle after July 10th.

Re: Seattle to SF or LA in July

Hey!

This sounds like a great trip. I have no off shore experience but I will do what it takes to get the job done and I can help with expenses to a certain extent. Please let me know if there is any information you need from me to work this out.

Unfortunately, we really need someone with offshore experience. We are participating in a rally (Coho Ho Ho) and it is a requirement.

Re: Seattle to SF or LA in July

Hello Seattle,
My name is Nancy, and a rescent memember here on CF. I have experience in open water crossings. I have sailed from Miami to the Naussa. This was on a 30' Siedleman. Just the captain and I
Then sailed in the area too. I have also been crew on a 40' cat in the BVI's. I was the cook and crew for this journey. I was on board for two weeks.
I also have my ASA level 104 certification. I spent a week in sailing school in San Carlos, Mexico.
I would be able to come early to help get the boat set with provisions.
How long is this trip? Is there any compensation? What are you exspectations of the crew?
thank you,
Nancy

Re: Seattle to SF or LA in July

Why not do it with just the two of you?

My wife and I left Gig Harbor on August 22 and arrived in San Diego October 1. It was her first trip offshore. We stopped in:
Port Townsend
Neah Bay
Westport
Newport
Coos Bay
Port Orford
Gold Bar
Noyo River
Half Moon Bay
Santa Cruz
Monterrey
Santa Barbara

we never had more than one over night and really enjoyed the sight seeing and the trip.

I've done the trip several other times and have also stopped in and enjoyed
Ventura
Morro Bay
Catalina Island
Oceanside

it is a very easy and comfortable trip for two if you pay attention to the NWS forecasts and plan on making a lot of stops.

My wife loved the trip and it made her much more comfortable when we left San Diego for some longer passages.

Re: Seattle to SF or LA in July

Hello there,

My husband and I may be interested in helping with your trip. We have 10 years of sailing experience, both in this area and on the East Coast. We are located in Bellingham, sail a 42'PH out of that area and have recently completed an ASA 108 course, the offshore certification.

We are interested in more experience and feel prepared to assist in a passage. Please contact us if you would like to discuss further!
