Re: Looking For Experienced Sailor To Move A Boat

BM, you might give folks a bit more info, things like type of boat, size, age, condition, time scale, willingness to provide return transport... things like that which influence the decision process for potential skippers. If I were in the area, the lack of such info would result in an immediate NFW.

Re: Looking For Experienced Sailor To Move A Boat

My boat is a 1969 morgan 30 sailboat i'm new to sailing so don't know much about the morgan 30 besides what i read and watched over the internet about the boat.

The condition of the boat is in good condition the previous owners took very well care of the boat i do have lots of pitures of the boat if need to look at.

Are you offering any compensation such as travel costs, meals, pay?

I'm sorry, I am not experienced enough to do this, I was just trying to help your post. I should have said that in original post.

Congrats and good luck.

Re: Looking For Experienced Sailor To Move A Boat

You might be more specific on the origin and destination. Assuming something like 50 NM/day are you talking a day sail, a week or what? Will you be in major shipping lanes for part of the trip. Critical information for an experienced sailor.

Re: Looking For Experienced Sailor To Move A Boat

That'll be a very long day.

I'd split it in two - plenty of places halfway to stop (Catalina, Dana Point, Oceanside, etc..)

I'll email you.

Re: Looking For Experienced Sailor To Move A Boat

los angeles to chula vista is over 90 miles. downhill. so it should take a day.
harbors are well marked... entry to san diego is well marked--read your charts well before leaving, and if you want dawn to help, she has done this many times, as she is a pro. her last downhill run of record was ha ha with patricia belle, 2015. she is well versed on west coast usa and mexico
