Re: Just retired police officer

Hi Joe,
Congratulations on your retirement. I am out east on the south shore of Long Island and enjoy sailing on the Great South Bay. Let me know if you are a fellow Long Islander, perhaps you would want to do some day sailing.

Re: Just retired police officer

Hello,

We are looking for crew. We are currently in the Canary Islands. We will soon leave for an Atlantic crossing to Carribean in route to Australia. We have a very comfortable and beautiful boat. "Deno" is a 44 ft. Lagoon 440 Catamaran. (google Lagoon 440, there are lots of pictures. Its only 4 yrs old.) We have an amazing captain and two current crew anyone would like. This is shared contribution of $70/night. Does that work for you?

is that $70 a night each or $70 between all of you which seems fair for sailing your boat for you 6-8 hrs a day.............

Thanks a lot,

Joe,

where you will be in Southern Italy end of January?
Possible for you to come to Marseille, France for a sail trip to north Africa?

Gerhard,

January 15-31 I will be in Scoglitti, Sicily. How long is the trip? Also do you have any further information on where we will be sailing to and expenses.
Thanks for the opportunity!

Re: Just retired police officer

Joe,

I will go from Marseille, France to Monastir, Tunesia in January which will take about a week. No expenses but your flight to Marseille and back from Enfidha.
However it will be hard to get from your place in Sicily to Marseille.

Re: Just retired police officer

zeehag,

Thanks for the congrats. Actually I am mechanically inclined. I have about 10 years experience as an airplane/helicopter mechanic and hold a valid FAA A&P license. I can read electrical schematics, I have rebuilt and know hydraulic systems, starters, generators, worked on avonics and installed autopilots. I am a helicopter/airplane pilot with over ten thousand hours of flight time and I am a great cook.

Thanks for responding and have a happy new year!

Re: Just retired police officer

Gerhard,
I priced the fight from CTA to Marseille FR. Round trip $429. 00. Not bad.
Enfidha -CTA or NY I have not checked.
I am guessing that the sailboat will remain in Enfidha? What is the distance to the destination, what type of vessel is it and how may onboard.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Just retired police officer

Joe,

Enfidha is the airport near Monastir. The boat will stay in Monastir.
Marseille to south of Sardegna is 300 nautical miles, where at San Pietro or San Antioco a stopover is possible depending of weather conditions. From there to Monastir are 250 nm. Depending of weather conditions a stopover at Tabarka or Sidi-Bou-Said is possible. These ports are 130 or 150 nm away from Sardegna. The airport is Tunis-Carthago then.
The boat is a 31 feet Westerly Pentland cetch with 3 cabins. I'm alone and need someone on watch during the trip. Last picture some weeks ago attached. I'm a retired engineer.
