Hello John,

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck in your search and I hope you'e already found someone. I've had crew join me that I've found online before and If you are still looking, I have a couple thoughts that might help you out:

1. Criserlog and floatplan.com are a couple other places to consider advertsing.

2. I've found, opening up short spots for people with limited sailing experience opens up many more options of people to join which may lead to longer situations. I've found almost anyone can learn the mechanics of sailing. Learning to be content in small spaces, with limited water and without many of the luxuries of home life, is not so easy. I've usually had the best matches when I search for the latter and teach the former.

Again, best of luck to you.

Must be willing to put up with all my bull, Must not be a gold digger, understand that the boat comes before her at all times.

As I read this i am starting to understand why i can not find her. lol

If you fit what i am looking for please contact me.

John
What you are looking for is very easy to find, John
You say you posted this for something to do when you were bored but why don't I believe this?

I have found many first mates in my time and am still friends with most, years later. I have photos of some of them on my website album but I won't say which.

You will know from the way they are looking at the camera (me).

The way to go about it, is to forget the "I am looking for" approach and approach it from the 'other' side.

Instead of saying what you want, say what you are offering to a first mate. Be honest of course.

The way to get what you want is by weeding out what you do not want.

There are thousands of "a young very attractive female, Very fit, etc." out there waiting for what you have to offer.

Happy hunting,

Aris

Easy for you to say Aris. You must be married or have a really hot girlfriend or your not even a male. Because yes there are lots of attractive females out there, and I happen to be one of them! But it is not easy to meet someone who has the same interests as you that is also available at the time!
It's not easy to approach one these hot females either! Men are very shy! and even the good ones are insecure about themselves
Here's a tip boys, confidence not cockiness! i.e. the way john said he checked his post and "wow"! and he would love to have coffee with that is the way to respond to a woman! You have to put yourself out there guys if your ready!

what to have to offer

Aris
I have figured out what I want and what I have to offer as well as eliminate unnecessary stuff. I am looking for a crew member who is not tied down by the complexities of modern day life and can get away to be able to sail anywhere in the world we might choose to go on a classic wooden sailboat. Seeking out a female crew member gives the impression I am looking for more than just a crew and adds a variable that I don't want to have to deal with.
For that reason I am looking for a male crew member, who would enjoy a couple of months sailing the BC and AK coast next summer. My boat is set up with two spacious bunks, one on main cabin, one in the forward cabin. Finding someone that would like to do it, is able to get away, is comfortable living in close quarters with another guy and is finally compatible with me....this continues to narrow it all down, to get it all together 6 months ahead of time ...........

I am renting a house and woodshop for 4 months and doing a total refit of my my boat, cabin interior, etc to set it up for extened cruising for two. If the crew memeber I have found decides he doesn't want to stick with me after all that I shouldn't have trouble finding a crew. Looking for a female crew I would either find someoen who thinks I have an "alterior motive" or someone who has other plans themself, besides the "female element" is a variable I would rather not deal with after I was several 100 miles out into the ocean. I am not being sexist, just practicle
