Do You Want a Noob On Your Boat?

Well I'm infatuated with sailboats and I'm trying to find people that would like to get a new guy on there boat. Last summer I had a sunfish and that's all the experience I have. I'm looking for someone who would like to do a little teaching.

I'm a 28 year old male and my work is done in the summers (I'm an aircraft mechanic and pilot). I'd be looking to go sailing after September. I'm down for anything (lakes, oceans, you name it). I don't know a single person who sails and I'm trying to get into it. I live in Colorado after September and will travel to where you are located.

Hi Flylow -- I sail in New Mexico and Arizona (yes!) and have also sailed in Colorado. Have you had a chance to meet up with any Colorado sailors yet? If you get to know people there, you might meet some Coloradans who also sail on the ocean. Where will you be in Colorado?

Re: Do You Want a Noob On Your Boat?

Thanks for the reply rgscpat. I will be in Crested Butte, CO outside of Gunnison. We have the Blue Mesa right there which is a large lake but not many sailors on it come end of September (I don't think). I haven't met anyone from Colorado who sails. CB is in the southwestern part of Colorado about 5 hours from Denver so anyone that sails is Denver is a ways from me.

I would also be interested in the Baja HA-HA if anyone wants to take along a new guy.

You might try FindaCrew website to get matched up with boats near where you are. Also, we are an expense share boat. You might be interested in joining us for long distance offshore sailing opportunities. There is much info about our schedule the boat and crew at elcieexpeditions dot com. Feel free to contact.

Thank you for that information. I don't even know where to begin so I find all that very helpful. I will be in touch.
