in that link you give, I clicked it and looked at what's available..... I'm curious (don't hate me, i'm new)

I can't figure out how a 3 almost 4 year old gemini is selling for $275k when they have BRAND NEW ones for about $160. what am i missing? I can only assume options? if so, why don't they list them?? sheesh

Admiral said, "Sell the boat."

Skipper said, "I'm trying but there's a recession on, honey..."

I almost dropped my standards and made an offer on an older 3400 about a month ago. Needed a lot of work. Someone else bought it while I was waffling, I think they got it for something like $ 20K.

Just as well, I want the 105 myself.

I am still trying to find out what this boat is, though. It looks close to the Gemini in size and draft, etc. And it's fitting in a standard slip. I asked on another thread, but thought since there are other 'small cat' people here maybe someone would recognize the hull ?

Any of you Gemini fans know anything about what kind of boat this is?

Looks like a Victory 35?

Here's a link with some photos:

Used Victory 35 catamaran for sale - Kick Back

It's 2 feet wider than a Gemini, so berthing is probably more catamaran'ish.

Cheers

That Gemini 105 is an interesting design. A couple of dumb questions from a monohuller:

Why is the head so far away (fwd. in the port hull) from the master stateroom? How do owners deal with that?

If one were to buy one equipped with an outboard, how big a job is it to repower with a diesel inboard?

And, most important, can one go water sailing">blue water sailing in one of these? I assume they are fine for coastal and Bahamas/Carib.

Big, buy one with a diesel in it though they do fine with an outboard.

The owners of Gemini sailed across the Atlantic, go to the website for the story.

Thanks. Which website for the Atlantic crossing story?

Kinda reimnds me of the J30 pitch "surviived Fastnet", which said very little about that design as well.

I think a more important question is whether or not you (speaking generally) are a bluewater sailor.

We sailed with a Gemini along the south coast of the DR and got stuck at Isla Beata for 7 days. We tried going out around the corner 3 times and hit 30-40k winds and 15' or better seas. On try 2 two we decided to turn around and the guys in the Gemini kept going. The waves were clearing the bimini on our Manta by several feet, it was kind of exciting. We caught up with them in Boca Chica and they had smiles on thier faces.

Not sure if this helps videorov find a nice Gemini but oh well they are nice boats.

Not to be rude to people who do own or want to own a Gemini, but why are they so cheap?? Every CAT I looked at was at least $500K new or used. Are they well made?? Or are they purely for recreational fun and then throw away??

This is a genuine question and I'm not being a smarty. I've just never seen them that cheap.. Thanks

$500K? I'd say you have not looked very hard.

What I've learned about Gemini's as coastal cruisers is very positive. And I've also learned that there are other used cats out there priced under $200k used that are also very good boats.

Just do some searching here and you'll see.

I was always looking at the French/European CATS in a new state. I've only recently just moved totally to monohulls as I haven't seen any CATS in a moderate price range.. At least until now...
