Teak & Maple Decking - DIY

Hi,
Started to make 3/8" x 1-7/8" t&g vg Burma teak decking with 3/8" x 3/8" t&g (1/4" face) hard maple strips.
Expensive...but cheaper than elsewhere.

Re: Teak & Maple decking DIY

Hello, On our last boat we used the same process, left the maple strips standing proud in areas where the ultimate non skid made sense. We flattened the maple flush with the teak around hatches bulheads etc to made it easier to sweep up the debris. We screwed the teak down with round head screws using epoxy then pulled the screws, plugged the holes when the glue set.
cheers, greg
