Sail and canvas material

It might be a long shot...

We're looking for sail fabric to use down here in Mexico as sun protection for the boat while in storage. If we get an exoborant amount, all the better as a couple of boats cruising with us are wanting some as well.

Old biminis, dodgers, sailcovers and scrap is welcome too!

If you're somewhere in the Sea, sweet! If not, you could still help (we'll pay for shipping) and ship it to Oregon where our friend is that's driving down the end of the season.

And yes, we'll take about anything as long as there's a decent section of usable cloth. It's going to have to last for a year or two baking in the sun.

Thanks!

Re: Sail and canvas material

I see you're wanting to keep costs down. You might look at agricultural shade cloth, made in Mexico. Just a thought. Some acquaintances made quite a good boat shelter out of some. It is easy to machine sew, possible to sew by hand. Just a thought.

Re: Sail and canvas material

A good thought indeed. We tried it last summer and it barely lasted 4 months. From what I've seen, blue tarps don't hold up long either.
