Want To Buy: Ranger 30 or similar 30ft performance cruiser

I am and experience offshore racer and cruiser based in the Seattle, Washington/USA area,
and I am looking for a performance cruiser with max LOA of 30 feet for single-hand Jester class
racing, plus some long distance voyaging. I am not looking to "adopt the cruising lifestyle."

Something between a full-on cruiser, and a pure race boat. For instance, the Ranger 30,
the C&C 30, or other early half-tonners. Metal or fiberglass. Located within 800 miles,
but including the Great Lakes. Priced realistically. Motor optional. Tiller steering desired.
Bonus points for good sail inventory, wind vane self-steering gear, beam around 10 feet, and a
garboards area that has at least a small bilge sump. Cosmetics not important as modifications
will be extensive, including rebuilding the main hatch area with a WT door, plus performance and
safety improvements.

Hello from Minnesota,
I have a Bristol 29.2. She took first in the longest freshwater sailing race in the world in Cruising Class in 1989, called the TransSuperior. She is a 1968 full keel with a centerboard and points like crazy. Note her sale pics at SanCarlosl Yacht Sales out of San Carlos, Mexico.

There's a very nice looking Tartan 30 on ebay right now that's about to sell for under 10k.
Only drawback is that it's in Florida...

In your area you should be able to find a nice yankee 30 great S/S design and quality construction. research them
