No matter which kind of catamaran you find, figure you'll pay 20 to 30 thousand for transport setup and taxes.

Leopard 47 have the engines inside under a hatch inbetween the bedrooms in the hallway in each hull.
Not great for noise, heat, mess and smells.

Re: Leopard 47 or Similar Catamaran

You are right.I would rather have shaft drives though as sail drives require far more maintenance , they are fragile and susceptible to electrolysis and stray currents in many a marina and very expensive to repair when salt water gets in.If i had the choice....i would take the noise , heat , mess and smells over sail drives

I have a nice clean 2000 Leopard 45 Hull # 52... named 2 SUM.... This is a 4 berth and 4 head version with the galley table that drops and a cushion sets on top to easily sleep 10 or watch your favorite movie in comfort . Has 2 Yanmar 55 HP 4 cylinder diesels. Considerable upgrades and maintenance have been performed including:
New Northern lights 8 KW genset now with only 500 hrs
Xantrex 3000 watt inverter/charger
3 air conditioning units that have reverse cycle heat
New bimini
New trampolines
Magma Catalina “ (biggest available) pedestal” mounted directly piped to the tanks or bottle use, propane grill with cover
All new engine and control Teleflex cables
New tinted Carbonite Lexan salon windows and re-set and sealing of same
New running rigging
New Alternators
New raw water pumps
New shower sump pumps
All new sanitary “toilet” lines replaced with Trident “odor free” lines
Re-built all toilets and new seats
New 2” diesel tank fill lines
New kitchen “pullout” faucet
Micro-wave installed
32” TV with 5.1 DVD and surround sound with subwoofer
Cable TV wired from the TV to the rear transom (inside the boat) with a covered connector (like the shore power connectors)
New CD radio with I-pod input and helm remote control with
Front exterior waterproof speakers under the pedestal front seats
All new LED recess lights in the galley
Most interior room fluorescent lights upgraded
Newer sailpack and all new Lazy-jack lines
New exterior Teak wood LED table light
New Saturn 11 ft dinghy with new 15 HP 4 stroke motor
New upholstered helm seat and backrest roll cushions
We made one of the front hull storage units a nice locking unit for charter ( to safely keep personal items on boat)
Boat is charter ready with kitchen equipped service for at least 8 ,
Electric toaster and electric coffee maker, all pots and pans and utensils and sheets, pillows etc.
Handheld and mounted VHF radios
All electronics autopilot etc. in great working condition
You can see pic’s of this boat at www.cccharters.com and more can be provided. I don’t have this boat listed for sale but may consider a sale to possibly upgrade to newer... The good thing for you is this boat is in the US (Chesapeake Bay) and already all duties and delivery issues are taken care of... call or email me if you have any interest... JOE 412-480-3780 boat has chartered well in the Chesapeake going out for 7 charters (average 1 week each) this season so far. I am considering moving this boat to the keys or Punta Gorda for this winter Fla. charter season.
