Laurin 32 Ketch in Portugal

This great heavy displacement, canoe-stern double ender, built in Sweden in 1965 is now for sale. She's in great shape, ready to sail anywhere, anytime.

Including a total exterior refit, with 2-part PU paint -09, new Yanmar 30YM-09 (350 hours) new working sails -07 in excellent condition. spinnaker w. sock, light air genoa, storm jib and mizzen stay sail too and a trysail on a separate track + dual spinnaker poles. Maststeps in the main mast. All Seldén rigging in very good condition.

manual Simson Lawrence windlass w 60 m chain + 50 m rope. 35# CQR as bow anchor (anchor+chain regalvanized-09) 20 kg Danforth with chain & rope as secondary and a folding fisherman anchor for the 'unthinkable'

Professionally/yard built interior in solid teak. Traditional style, w. v-berth forward, head (Lavac-07)to SB, stowage to port w 8 big lockers, two settees in the salon Pullman style berths w thick foam mattress in one and the other converted to storage and a sea bunk. Galley to port w Taylor 030 state of the art kerosene/paraffin stove in SS, brass and enamel. Two ice chests and lots of lockers and deep SS sink with freshwater and seawater foot pumps, Nav station to SB converted for laptop nav.comp. locker w. echo sounder (-08), radar/plotter -06, Icom VHF and Garmin GPS. Aft of nav. station a quarter berth used as sail locker. Glembring 'drip feed' diesel heater w stove in the main salon new -07

Röde Orm has a deep protected cockpit w two large lockers and beautiful teak covered seats and sole. Lazarette aft of cockpit and an Aries w spares.

Hydraulic steering with SS wheel and a beautiful wooden tiller for use w the wind vane. Brand new dodger/sprayhood -10 with zippers to open the front in hot conditions and a canvas cover for the 'windows'. A custom made sun cover for the cockpit that doubles as a rain catcher. plus a large cover from the main mast to the cockpit.

Boom gallows in SS and solid teak. Oversized mooring cleats for and aft and lee cloths/dodgers to protect the cockpit. Double SS life lines and sturdy stanchions. Pullpit and pushpit 30 mil ss tubing beautufully crafted.

Lots of parts and lines etc. Ready to go!

These boats are extremely tough and well built. Both decks and hull Airex cored double laminate makes a strong hull, also quiet and well insulated. Hull and the characteritic whale deck are glassed together from the yard, thus no leaks whatsoever. Epoxy coated bottom and 3 coats of heavy duty bottom paint last year that will keep her protected from growth at least 3 years more. In 2009 at the refit all hull and deck sections were found to show no signs of moisture when gauged. Dry as a bone!

This is a boat somewhat in the same style as Colin Archer, Ingrid, and Tayana just to mention a few. More modern lines makes her a faster boat though. In the 60ies they won qute a few off-shore races in Scandinavia and her 'mother' 'Casella' built in wood, made it very well in the Transatlantic Race 1960 which became the road to legendary status for the Laurin designed koster boats. The race was very tough with several bad storms and 'Casella' was the smallest boat in the race and finshed 4th with her swedish crew of 5 amateurs.

PIctures and full equipment list upon e-mail request.

The boat is presently at anchor in Ria Guadiana on the Algarve coast in Portugal, close to the Faro int'l airport. A very nice all year cruising area within a week from the Canaries or the Med.

Since I've bought a new, one size bigger, boat in the same style, she's now for sale for Euro 38 000

ok

Yeah I understand. Not always easy to get what she should be worth during other circumstances but the most important is of course that you got her sold.

Hope you will be happy with the new boat and mexico I just love central america.
