Carribbean Guide books

We are starting our final phase of getting ready to head south to the Caribbean on our sailing adventure.

Been looking at guide books for the islands and am surprised about how much they are. With having spent sooo much money on getting the boat ready, guide books were never in the budget.

So ... if anyone is finished with theirs and want them to go to be relived with us... we are willing to put them to good use and willing to pay shipping.

Looking for free guidebooks all the way to Grenada.

Geezus, I thought I was cheap, er, frugal. Not intending to insult, but have you perhaps considered that asking for something for free takes a reasonable pair of well sized kojones?

Anyways, I'll guide you a bit at no cost. Here is a link to the military's guide to the area. They also cover the rest of the world... you need to go to the site.

Seeing I didn't have to pay for them, no charge and shipping is included

Re: Carribbean Guide books

Thanks Guys... awesome suggestions..

And as for asking for free items... heck, If I had some extra stuff that I dont need, I dont mind giving it to a new home if they can use it... Plus, you'll never know if you dont ask.

Re: Carribbean Guide books

riversandbar,

If you are not successful in obtaining printed cruising guides, you can find a wealth of information for free just by joining Active Captain (www.activecaptian.com). Their database focuses on ICW, East Coast, and Bahamas but does cover the world. Some of the lesser traveled areas don't have much information in them, however.

I assume you have already realized you can glean a ton of information from CF by searching in the destination forums. You can also search other cruisers' blogs for nuggets about where you want to go. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about West Coast, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, or Virgin Islands.
