Bombay Clipper 31 $8,000

This boat is roomy, well laid out, has copious storage, diesel power, good sails and is ready to move anywhere, as long as it's not across an ocean. Great coastal cruiser and family boat, she is very comfortable with wide berths and a work bench. At a dock, she has hot water and all the amenities. New head with holding tank. Needs some TLC, but ready to live on. Best of all, she has an 11' beam and is only 31' long. On a mooring at Dinner key Marina. Cost is $275 per month includes launch service 8-5, heads with showers and laundry, storage and dinghy dock. More details and photos to interested parties. Look up these boats on line for reviews and market value.

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 $8,000

I owned one of these Bombay Clipper 31's about 10 years ago. Great boat 'n very comfortable for a 31 liveaboard. Not the fastest by any means but still a good sailing boat. "Gusto" had the more desirable Yanmar 3GMF 24 hp. Nicknamed "The Poor Man's Island Packet". Loved that boat..,

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 $8,000

Thanks for the input. The Bay Windsor also has the Yanmar diesel. Very reliable. This boat is very cheap to keep, either at anchor, on a mooring, or best to use all the amenities, at a dock, plugged in. Someone will jump on this deal and have a great liveaboard that won't bust the bank. JLS

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 $8,000

I just sold mine in July, that price is a steal!!!! These are super seaworthy, great sailing little ships that feel like a much larger vessel. Tons of room, and a nice sea motion. Saw a 29 IP and I swear it looked almost identical.
Is this the 3'6" draft? When I listed mine I had tons of calls,

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 $8,000

Thanks for the reply. The boat is a steal because there is work to do below that requires elbow grease, refinishing the sole and elementary carpentry. she needs to have the pull out berth to port re-upholstered as well as the offset berth in the owner's cabin. She needs a cushion made for the starboard lower berth. She needs the backs of some of the drawers replaced due to termite damage from long ago. ( the termites are long gone. The cockpit cushions are white naugahyde with blue piping, very nice and comfy. She has an inflateable dinghy with a 3.5 evinrude. This boat can go sailing today with roller furling and mid-boom sheeting. She has an Autohelm pilot.

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 $8,000

She went to a young pilot here in Miami that wants to live aboard in the mooring field. Great view, easy lifestyle for under three hundred bucks a month. I know of other boats going cheap for people with a willingness to do a little repair work while enjoying living aboard. For instance, a classic Alberg 35 with a Kubota diesel and well rigged with good sails, including roller furling. Needs deck repair and short splices in the heavy teak caprail. PM me for info if you have from a fewK to under 10K to get into a good boat in the Miami area. Floating heaving lines with monkey-fist, whippings and splices; very salty piece of safety equipment.
