BAJA FUEL FILTER

This is an original Baja Fuel Filter with top and bottom caps to keep the filter clean, and avoid spills. Recommended by Good Old Boat and many cruising guides for places where you might get questionable fuel, like the Bahamas, or Caribbean. By filtering the fuel as it comes out of the hose, it helps prevent clogging your inline filters, and injectors from water, bio-matter (algae, etc) and other junk. I consider it a must for offshore cruising!

Re: BAJA FUEL FILTER

Hi:
What is the fuel flow gph/lps, whatever, with this device? There are few places that enjoy seeing you sit there for 2 hours dripping fuel into your fuel holding tank. I have 3 of the black ones with single and double filters (and they really do stop junk and water--they clog up and need to be cleaned sometimes after 20 gallons depending on where you get your fuel--e.g. Port Dickson Marina, Malacca Straits) but usually end up hosing right into the inspection caps on the fuel tank. I use them sometimes for filtering fuel from jerry cans into main tank. Not ideal, I know, but tides going out, pump jockey going home, other boats waiting.
They are good ideas, these filters but not a must for round the world cruising. Clean your fuel tank when you can and rely on primary and secondary filters otherwise. You may think me reckless but I think I'm practical.

Re: BAJA FUEL FILTER

If you still have this and it's the large model with all the internal screens, I'm interested.

0321??? Any chance you were a Marine?
