Australia: ICOM IC-M802 SSB + PTC-II USB Pactor Modem + AT140 Tuner

Hey guys, we're only doing light coastal cruising at the moment. There's gear on our boat that I figured we'd be better off selling, instead of it just getting old. It all works perfectly and is in great condition!

The first item up for grabs is a complete SSB setup:
ICOM IC-M802 SSB
PTC-II USB Pactor Modem
ICOM AT140 Tuner

Located on the Gold Coast, Australia, and shipping will be free anywhere in Australia.

I'm just trying to gauge interest at this point. More info and high quality photos + pricing will follow soon.

Cheers

Trevor

Hello everyone,

I replied to sailfish2008, so I'll post some of my response here:

I can guarantee it to all be working, but I assume it will take at least some handy-work and knowledge to properly re-install it on another vessel. I can't provide install support, as I really don't know much about installing the actual hardware.

I'm asking $2600 for the whole setup incl shipping to Australia/NZ insured: (ICOM 802 + PACTOR IIUSB + ICOM AT140 Tuner + External speaker + mounting bracket + manuals).

This is all on a perfectly functioning install, so any cables that can be removed without cutting will also be included. The only very slight issue I'd like to point out is that the microphone cord is starting to show some wear around its connector.

Here's a link to my Ebay profile to help verify my reputation. I put in a "hello Cruisers forum" mention on that profile page.

Some hi-res images (click for full-sized version)

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

Cheers

Trevor

I'll answer what I can

- I believe the unit was installed around 2005-2006. Sorry I can't provide an exact date, as the previous owner had the install done. Judging by the quality of work and cable runs, I'd assume it was installed professionally.

- The pactor modem supports a USB connection directly to your laptop or any other computer. New versions of the email software are available freely online: Airmail to use with Sailmail, etc. I think there's more, but I can't recall the names. Luckily there's tons of info about using Sailmail online.

- I'm not sure about specific weatherfax hardware, but I do know that weather faxes can easily be decoded on your computer by plugging in the line-out audio from the radio. Apps like JV-Comm32 will do this.

Here's a link to the whole ICOM IC-M802 manual as a PDF

Hope that answers your questions.

Cheers

Looking for the same setup!

Hi,
Shame, I just missed out on this lot. Hey if anyone knows of someone selling a similar rig I need:
ICOM M802 or similar
Suitable USB Modem
Auto tuner
Rope antennae
Cables and earth strap

I am selling my old Codan 8525a HF radio in working order and programmed with all Australian and NZ marine frequencies plus Australian land based ones and flying doctor so is suitable for both land and marine use. 99 CHANNELS PROGRAMMED on it. Comes with manual and power leads, some coax etc. Best offer.
Thanks, Colin

Hi

I am looking at possibly removing exactly the same ICOM SSB unit and pactor from my boat. It is an unrestricted US model I bought for our passgae from France to Australia 3 years ago.

Feel free to touch base.

Re your SSB etc you are removing

Hi Mike,

Sounds interesting. Can you tell me exactly what you have and how much you might want for it. My email address is: eos2voyage@hotmail.com

By the way I am currently in Sydney, Australia so it would need to be shipped here so dimensions and weight estimate would be good to have too if you have any idea as to what they might be..
,
Cheers,
Colin
