Mahé 36 in The Netherlands? Or Belgium? Or North Germany? Or…?

After much searching on the internet I think the Mahé might the boat for me. But up to now I have only read about it and seen the pictures, so the next step would be to see a Mahé in real life. Rabbi kindly offered me to have a look at his boat, but that one is in Italy at the moment, and I am in Rotterdam. For a first look it would be convenient if there would be a Mahé a bit closer by.

Does anybody know of a Mahé lying somewhere in The Netherlands or in Belgium or on the North coast of Germany or the North coast of France?

There used to be a Mahe for charter in the marina of centerparcs Port Zeelande.

Hoi Rob,
Ja, dat zou ideaal zijn, maar ... die boot hebben ze 2 jaar geleden verkocht. Stom dat het dan toch nog op internet staat. In ieder geval bedankt voor de tip.

For the non-Dutch speaking members : Unfortunately that boat is sold...

Hmmm ... it seems all the Mahé's, after leaving La Rochelle, immediately go either to the Mediterranean, to the States, to the Bahama's, or the BVI's or other exotic locations.
What’s wrong with the good old North Sea, Holland, Belgium, Germany, etc.?

Winter here in the Med is warmer than most summers in Germany.
The north sea is not only cold / wet / windy but often there is not even water around because of the tides.
The med has certainly nicer weather. On average that is, we have experienced some very severe thunderstorms just off the coast recently with winds up to F 11 and gusts touching F12.

Today we have been lifted out for winter storage in Marina di ragusa / Sicilly and are currently preparing everything for the winter.
I guess you have seen plenty of pictures and youtube videos of Mahes but if there is any special area you want a photo of let me know.

One suggestion: the FP dealer in Germany may know a Mahe that is still in the area.

Okay, okay, I understand very well the attraction of the Med, the Bahama’s or the BVI. Always nice weather (or almost…), warm water, inviting for a dive to check your anchor or just for fun, etc.

But we have a problem, we love England. And Ireland. And Scotland . Once you have sailed in the Hebrides you keep wanting to come back… Beautiful loughs lined by high mountains, gannets and puffins, and a whiskey distillery on every island. A bit wet now and then, but you get used to that.

Rabbi, I’ll check with the FP dealer, thanks for the tip. I suppose you have already left Sicily?

We prefer to give global warming another decade or so before we pay a visit to these areas

The boat is now on the hard in a good yard and we are back home for the winter.
