Setup a guard ring around an object?

Is there a simple way with OpenCPN to set a protective or warning ring around an object so that if I crossed into that protected area I'd be notified in some way?

Probably not what you're looking for, but a negative anchor alarm works this way. The boat has to be within a mile of the hazard though.

'Just gave it a try. Not too successful in effort.
