OpenCPN - Night mode is not really a night!

Repeatedly raised this issue in a conversation with Dave.
Urgent problem again!
When using night mode visible white border that makes the overall picture in the dark bright. This picture is blind at night.

Alternatively, use a contrasting theme in Windows but it is not convenient because you have to switch to a normal topic
Need a clear picture in a dark night mode!

Thank you!
But this nonsense for the home PC!
the color changed from cold to warm)))
It should be the complete exclusion of light elements!

Reduce the brilliance of the PC with the function key (generally Fn and F5)
afterward you will be able to use only the Twilight mode and not the darker Night mode. That was generally the one use on ships during the night. Because the use of the Night mode makes it useless for working.
Good luck.

Reducing the backlight is only suitable for a laptop!
But what about those who have regular monitors? There are certainly vessels monitors setting dimming but the price ...
At night, you can work with CPN namely in control locations on the map. Main course monitor the situation visually.
It is necessary to make the image on the screen interface CPN without light elements.

Here's a great example - the night mode and the dimming of the program
dimming why it was not recorded. it is interesting how it works may download trial

No need to yell. I am not a developer but might have an idea. If you are running Windows 10 then the border and title of windows is not under control of the developers. But it is under control of the user. In Windows 10 the border and title colors can be changed. The color of the title bar is the hardest to change. You have to create a new theme then copy the file and edit it. Then you have to double click the edited file to tell Windows to change the color of the title bar. Here is a web site that gives step by step instructions for changing title and border colors:

How To Change Title Bar Color In Windows 10

How To Change Window Border Color In Windows 10

I did an experiment and in Windows 10. OpenCPN uses the Windows theme border and title bar colors. So if you change these colors in a theme (called Night for example) then all you have to do is select the Night theme when you are sailing at night.

Below I show you 2 screen shots of OpenCPN in full screen in "night" mode. One is with the standard Windows theme and the other is with a customized "night" theme. So I think this is a problem you can solve for yourself without developers help.

this method I know
in your example light border around the perimeter of the screen will not go away!
Look at my second screenshot where I apply a contrasting theme in win10

modify and edit the theme is not convenient!
I think you need to research this problem,

Do you see a light border in the screen shot I posted? It only takes 2 seconds to switch between themes once you have created the night time theme. Creating the theme takes only 5 minutes.

Microsoft will make it easier to edit the title bar and border in the next big Windows 10 release. Some are getting that now.

yes I see!

excessive manipulation in the operating system for night mode operation sieve unacceptable!
it should be realized in CPN

Which line is too bright?

Again, OpenCPN does not draw these lines. Windows draws them. That's why Windows has themes. It's just the way Microsoft wanted things to work. You are complaining to the wrong people.

Re: OpenCPN - Night mode is not really a night!

opencpn tells windows to draw things, so the problem is in opencpn.

I don't think it's possible to fix by editing the xml.
