OCPN 4.4.0 Not accepting official .kap/bsb maps

Pavel.. So you have fixed the problem. How can that be applied to the present OCPN version? Or do we have to wait for the next update?

Unless you are building your OpenCPN from source, you of course have to wait for the next beta release.
With current OpenCPN 4.4, you can fix your charts as described by Thomas earlier in this thread.

There is an amazing number of possibilities if you look at all the chart formats at the bottom left of the page,even complete ENC´s and very detailed aerial photos you can overlay the maps.

You find all the map types in the little box at the bottom left, click right or left....

Can it be that you have to be registered and logged in to get this options?

Second: where do you change to "English" on this site.
(being fluent in German and English reading the site in Norwegian allows for some (wild) guessing, not very comfortable or efficient)

Edit: found the language option under "loggin" without logging in....

But then obviously presented as rasterized.
So not really ENC chart. "Based on ENC" or RNC would be perhaps correct.
RNC because you get a given scale and a given presentation, not objects to present.

It looks to me that we have here a 1:10.000(?) vector chart (have not found any way to change presentation - objects to show) which is then rendered at the different scales of the tiles of the raster charts.

One might generate the whole coast with this rendering as a basic raster portfolio. Challenging and interesting...

Or talking to Kystinfo to release/license the ENCs directly.

Have to correct me:

the raster tiles presented are generated at scale - but it seems that the renderizer struggles with the presentation - we have seen this at OpenCPN with Lights and texts as well.

Or just black boxes or black areas when changing scales. (In this case on Safari/ OS-X).

Trying to edit a NW009.1.kap file with a text editor,correcting heading to:
PR=TRANSVERSE MERCATOR and copy the file as NW009.1.KAP.txt into the
same directory as bsbfix.

Then I go to CMD and position to the bsbfix directory,and make the following command: bsbfix NW009.1.kap (does not find the file)
then trying bsbfix NW009.1.kap.txt (does not change back to kap file

I am not good at this,can you put me right?

just drag the kap file onto bsbfix.exe.

It won't fix everything,though.

Tried your suggestion but the chart remains a txt file?

All I did was read the .kap file into Notepad,changed the PR= setting to
TRANSVERSE MERCATOR and saved the file without making any further changes, then just dropped it onto BSBFIX which seemed to work but gave a warning about énd of file´ The file remained .kap.txt though and re-naming it did not help.

Is there a simple code editor that does not change the nature of the .kap?
