help! Windows 10 Pro closing OpenCpn 5.0.0

Good day! Please help - when I scrolling and zooming the maps - prepairing to open S-63 modules , Windows is closing the application. The window "Program "opencpn.exe" is not working". I have about 45 installed maps- we are navigating at remote area - Russian Arctic waters and, this is the only option for electronic charts. Just a couple weeks ago there was no such problem - all was working correctly. So , the question: is the problem with opencpn installed programm ? Or, with paid S-63 charts modules/licenses (thouhgt, there is no report if the license is incorrect,or not valid) ? Or, this is Windows problem ?
Internet is very limited here, so "Undo - reinstall all" will be complicated.
We have paper charts. But, not as many as electonic.
Looking forward
Vladimir

We understand that you did not install anything new and suddenly OpenCPN fails?
Did you install new, additional charts? Did you re-organize your charts?

Does OCPN crash without the S-63 plug-in enabled? Do you have any other plug-in (beside the standard ones) running? Disable them all and then enable them one by one to find the possible "culprit".

If this does not help:
Make a back-up copy of the config file - OpenCPN.ini - , rename it and start with a blank configuration. You will need to enter the S-63 UserPermit and the OpenCPN S-63 InstallPermit again.
And you will need to configure the COM settings for example. Chart directories...
Well, all your private settings.

What you can try is to uninstall the S-63 charts, deleting the directories and then start to install the charts one by one. If you added charts lately, then you might start with the older, complete batch and then trying to isolate any "offending" chart.

If you can identify some chart crashing the system - the question here is what crashes: the plug-in or OpenCPN - then we can have look.
The task manager will give you an idea: is the oserverd still running after the crash?

Can you send me a log file with the latest crash to info at o-charts?

And update to 5.0.2 if possible...

Re: help! Windows 10 Pro closing OpenCpn 5.0.0

First make sure to use the latest S-63 plug-in for Windows:
http://opencpn.navnux.org/O5Plugins/...1501-win32.exe

It is not very big, so you might download it even when bandwidth restricted.

Good luck!
