cm93 works in V2 but not V3

I have downloaded the latest release of openCPN but it seems that my CM93 charts are not loading. i´m just getting the black background with blue coast outlines. I have tried this in Windows 8 and ubuntu 12.10 but no joy.

I have the charts installed on an older version of OpenCPN 2 on ubuntu 10.04 (i think) and everything is working fine, so it proves that the charts are good and that I know how to load these charts.

Has something changed in Opencpn v3? How can I check if my CM93 is compatible?

No, CM93 charts that worked in 2.x works in 3.x too.

1. Check your settings, make sure that the active charts contains the CM93 folder.

2. Do a "Force Full Database Rebuild"

3. If it still doesn't work, check your logfile for CM93 related messages.

Thanks for the advice. I had a look at the logfile and I'm getting the following errors

12:50:50 CLST: Initializing Chart /media/My Passport/CM93

I'm not sure what I can do to solve this problem. I get the same errors in the logfile on window 8 and ubuntu 12.10 with version 3 of OpenCPN.

argybargy...

OpenCPN is looking for the file "CM93ATTR.DIC" in the root of the cm93 file tree. Is it there?

No. I have subfolders 00300900 through to 04501020 and edition E2.

I don't think I've ever had the dictionary file, and this has worked in OpenCPN v2, and Cmap.

thanks.

argy...

No version of OpenCPN can work cm93 without the dictionary files. They must be available somewhere else on your other system.

Take a look around, find them, and copy the two .DIC files to the root of cm93 on your Passport drive. That will help this drive to be more portable.
