Blue Screen Shut Downs

BBcode 44 is a driver issue. Applications and their files cannot crash Windows 7 by themselves. Drivers from bogus third-parties can. Like Brand X serial adaptor drivers or Brand X graphics cards being stressed by OpenCPN graphics work. If the driver for your GPS serial adaptor, or GPS, or whatever, didn't come with Windows but was loaded online or from a manufacturer's CD it should be suspect. Most third-party Brand X hardware drivers for such devices are trash. (I was a Windows driver programmer a while ago...the world's most bleak occupation).

Ok. I will play with that idea. I downloaded my new GPS serial adaptor from the manufacturer, (which looked like the same site that I downloaded (recommendation from OpenCPN which I think is great) a driver for the old GPS. That driver is still on board.
I will try to work it out.

Do it. It's fabulous here. Friendly. Beautiful. The only negative is it's more expensive for food and such.
