Leaking Rudder Gland (Stuffing Box)

Hi. On my Marine Trader the starboard rudder gland is leaking. It is causing my bilge pump to come on twice every twenty four hours. This I am not happy about. I am posting a picture of the rudder showing where it is leaking & wonder if some of you better versed than I can give me a little help as to how best to go about repacking this gland & is it possible to do it in the water. I am familiar with the stern gland assembly on the prop shaft having to pack & tighten the two large nuts but not to sure on the configuration I have on the rudder. Any help/input would be most appreciated. Thank youClick image for larger version
