Buys ballot modification

Hey guys, very new this this forum so id like to say hello first. I am going to write a meteorology exam in a few days as I am working towards my watch keeping mates ticket, I have a few practive exams and there is one question I cannot seem to find the answer to and that is what is the modification to buys ballots law when in the viccinity of a tropical revolving storm? Any insight would be great!

By modification, I would assume they are talking about the Law as it applies in the Southern versus Northern Hemisphere.

Since cyclones rotate in opposite directions in the two hemispheres, the low will be on your right with your back to the wind in Southern Hemisphere.

Also, the closer you are to the centre of the storm, the less "behind you" the centre becomes when you are facing the wind.

I had thought to put the it does not apply when you are within 5 degrees close to the equator, but then you would not have a TRS either due to non existance of the coriolis effect...just not sure
