sailmail and mac

We have a PTC IIe Pactor Modem, an ICOM IC 706MKIIG SSB and a Mac I-book G4 Laptop with an OSX operation system. Sailmail was written originally to work on a Windows operating system. Does anyone know if it will work on our Mac Laptop? I hate to spend the $250 to find out it isn't compatible. Thanks

I don't think so. However, I know that the guys that developed GPSNavX are also working on a MAC version or MAC compliant Sailmail version. I don't know when it will appear though.

I have a G4 with OSX and it WILL NOT work on it. Unless...

You will need to run it with a Windows emulator such as Virtual PC. However, on a iBook G4 it will be painfully slow. You can try other emulators such as QEMU...

Or.. You can pony up for a new mac laptop. The new ones run both Mac OS & Windows.
