Raytheon 390 GPS Sensor / Antenna

Hey! My first post

Some of you scallywags may recognize me from other corners of teh interwebs. Thought I already had an account here, but I guess not.

Looking for some help with my ancient Raytheon 390 GPS. It came with the boat and while it's not pretty, it is functional. It worked right up to the point where it didn't. I guess a bee's nest inside a GPS antenna is a bad thing.

So I need to find a new antenna. I contacted Raytheon, but they suggested I get in touch with the OEM (Sanyo I think). Haven't followed up with them yet, but I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone has any suggestions.

TIA

Unhappy Re: Raytheon 390 GPS sensor/antenna

Looking for a solution for the problem with my own Raytheon 390 GPS I found your message. Did you solve your problem? In the startup fase the 390 checks every including the antenna so you have an indication if your antenna is OK, yes or no. An other point is the internal memory battery, a CR 2032 with soldering tips. It must be renewed every 5 to 7 years. Do you have the user guide of the 390? My own 390 doesn't function any more in spite of fixing a new battery. He does not except the date anymore. Chips failure?
