Multiple GPS Demands

OK, the handheld wants a GPS input as does the fixed mount VHF. And then there is the AIS (serial port output) and the chartplotter (older Garmin 178C) , the netbook (no serial ports) and the GPS puck for the netbook. How do I put all this together? Already spent more outfitting than planned. Any good suggestions? Chartplotter is always on, not sure will keep the netbook going all the time.
