How do you connect the data to the iPad?

Wireless via wifi. The iPad is running the Splashtop app and the MacMini runs the Splashtop streamer for MacOS, Parallels with a Windows 7 VM and finally the MaxSea software. Shame that MaxSea does not have a native Mac version.

The MacMini has two network links:

- ethernet into the NavNet 3D network switch with radar antenna and MFD12 display (both are ethernet too).
- wifi into my router for Internet etc.

Hi Alex. It'snot that difficult: with an iPad and the Splashtop app, you can use the iPad to control other PC's, Laptops etc. So, I run a navigation program at the navstation and can use it from anywhere.

You do need a wifi router on the boat, much like at a house.

cheers,
Nick.

Thank for the tip. I was using "Team viewer" for this purpose but it was driving me crazy with its random password request. Splasktop2 is much more user friendly and just what I needed.

Re: MaxSea on an iPad incl. AIS, instruments and radar!

Sorry, could you, please give me an information about Maxsea for ipad?
On the map, is it possible to see which kind of bottom? I mean if it is sand, rock etc.?
Thank you

The iOS versions of both MaxSea TZ and NobelTec TZ are available. I have been wondering why nobody is using it yet....
