Iám Looking for a used Simrad CX44 Navstation Chartplotter
My CX44 has a broken glass and I can´t replace it. Everything else working fine. Looking for a used unit or maybe one with a non broking glass. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have a working system with:
Radar
Autopilot
Instruments for sailing with repaters on the mast (depth, speed, wind etc)
A Simrad ??33 in the Nav. table.

Hi,

I'm thinking about what I should do. If I do I choose a new plotter so it may be necessary to sell my old one.

My problem is that the slave plotter down in the boat and the radar will likely be difficult to connect with new plotter.

I'm still looking for a working display that can replace my broken.

Is there anyone who knows the differenns between my Simrad CX44 and Simrad CP44? Can a display from a CP44 work on my CX44?

If I find a workable CP44, can this one replace my CX44 with functions for radar and my slaveplotter, DS34?

Does my seachart in my CX44 working in another plotter or is my charts encrypted to just my plotter.

I am also looking for a used cx44. I can not get the motherboard out of the housing to replace the internal battery attached to the motherboard. So plan B is to get another unit or a motherboard from an old unit. When the internal battery dies the unit does not maintain location, and when shut off, it looses all of its present info.
Let me know if you have any leads on extra parts.

I was able to replace the battery in my CX54 in May of 13, I can not remember if I had to remove the mother. I think I did and it had 3 or 4 plugs. The battery was soldered in. Getting a used unit may not correct your problem for very long. Batter life is about 10 years.

Both of my plotters (CX54 and DS34) have the glass separating at the edges. Not sure what I will do when they completely fail.

topofmygame it was pretty simple to change the battery it is on the back of the unit. The battery is solder in so you do need a little skill in soldering on the board.

I have a Simrad set in my HR352, with a broken CX44.
After a thunderstorm the unit was out of service.
The best thing is to find a working one, but I also will be glad with one for the spares.

Wanted to update everyone that I found a Marine electronics shop that will repair the delaminating displays it is

The estimate was a big pricey but less than new electronic suite. I have sent my two display in and will let you know more once I have them repaired.
