Re: jrc 1000 radar

Resetting probably won't get it to turn.

The JRC 1000 was so bad at the marine electronics place I worked at...we suggested to JRC to start selling it at Toys R Us.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news..but just get rid of it...hard to imagine someone will buy it and it never worked well to begin with.

the scanner does turn.i will get it to work one way or another. I have a spare one for parts.everything can be fixed if you try hard enough.its only going to be used in an emergency.

Re: jrc 1000 radar

None of my business, Big Red, but IMO any gear that is to be "only used in an emergency" should be in good order, not podged up. Emergencies deserve respect!

Sadly, I can't help with your specific electronic problem, just your philosophical one!

Re: jrc 1000 radar

I only go out in a small bay and its just incase a fog drops.im not going anywhere with it.just a couple miles down the coast day fishing.so its not worth spending £3000 on something I will never use.i have been fishing the same place for over 15 years.the boat I had before would do 30 knts as I have bought a bigger boat with a diesel engine only cruises 8 knts.the radar is just for safety.im never more than half a mile from the coast.if I was going abroad or cruising I would buy new.hth.
