iPad Sailing Log Book

Hi All,

I have been using a new iPad log Book called "iLog Sailing Companion", am very please with the purchase and it has lots of excellent functions, the only hitch is I purchased the iPad version with no GPS so off shore the auto entry of Lat Long does not work so I use the manual tool in iLog Sailing, does anyone have input on how to connect GPS feed to an iPad. I run a Raymarine plotter with seatalk bus, any input on how to connect or an alternative approach would be appreciated.

Thanks Mick

Re: iPad Sailing Log Book

There's a couple ways. You could google ipad GPS and find a bluetooth gps unit to work with the ipad.

Or you could wire a NMEA multiplexor like the shipmodul Miniplex 42-bt to the raymarine and it will take ALL of the instrument data and convert it to Bluetooth.

There are also similar wifi versions available that will get you better range.
