Help with OpenCPN

Hi all, I have just installed an AIS (850 Vesper) works really well! Simple to use (even for me)
My problem is it does not talk to Maxsea on my laptop (V 10.3.2.1)
I have now got Open CPN 2.3.1, this works fine, Shows all the ships etc. But on a black screen, the only charts I can get are of the South China Sea, for some reason it will not load the Maxsea charts.
Is there a site I can get charts, I am in the Malaysia area.
Or is there a way to get it to read Maxsea?
I know I am doing something stupid (I am computer illiterate) can anyone help?
Please a simple explanation, and please write slowly as I don’t read very fast!

Try asking your question in the OpenCPN subforum in Navigation. Let them know what the format is of the charts that won't load.

You also may be able to get information on using your AIS with Maxsea in the Navigation forum.
