Garmin Fishfinder 250 pings but shows no depth and speed.Any thoughts.

Hi,

I have a Garmin Fishfinder 250 which used to work fine.
The sensor is an Airmar 66.

Now it only shows water temperature but no depth and speed data anymore.
The sensor is very clean outside and when in a bucket I can hear and feel the signals.
The paddlewheel turns free.

Tried a factory reset. No change.
Tried demo mode.Depth gets displayed.

What else can I try?

Bering on a tight budget, do I need to replace the unit, or the sensor, or both?
