Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

The Microsoft default USB driver will definitely not be correct.
You could try connecting to a Mac which didn't always need a 3rd party driver loaded for these type USB connections.
Or try to find what is the driver type for the True Heading from their website https://trueheading.se/downloads/. These may be newer drivers, or incompatible with your device, but could provide a hint of the comms chipset used, eg Prolific or generic FTDI etc, then you can try various versions of these drivers...

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Thank You very much Simon. Really valuable hints.
And indeed, I found on the THeading downloads page some USB driver for a newer AIS model but let`s see if it work. Tomorrow shall try it on the boat. If any progress I`ll share it here on the Cruisers forum.
If no success, going to hunt for Apple iOs geeks.

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Looking to change the MMSI on my new Raymarine AIS700. I mistakedly entered the wrong MMSI after being properly warned in the instructions. Fat-fingers and not checking my work... UGHHH. Anyway, I have PROAIS2 connected via a serial cable to NEMA and see data rolling along the screen. I believe all I need is the string Raymarine uses to reprogram. Anyone have any experiece with this that can help? Thanks in advance!

Hi Alan,
I am Ernesto, and also need to program my SH GX2200 radio MMSI. My boat "Falua" is in Montevideo, far south, and the option that SH/YEASU offered (send the radio to CA) is not feasible. Could I use your software?
My emails are ernesto@qualisyss.com and eco019@gmail.com
Thank you!
Best regards
Ernesto

I have the software, and the cable set, I reset mine myself.

Where are you located?
Check with SH and see if there is a authorized center nearer you.

I can send the cable and software or you could send me the radio if nearby.
I'm in South Carolina

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Hi All!
I used this sentences from another post in this forum and they worked for me using proAIS2. I resetted a Raymarine AIS700.

to delete the programmed MMSI number
This is followed by
$PSMT,0,3,0x2C75B2FA,1,delay 100,53*06
and then an MSSI programming command
Finally
$PSMT,0,3,0x2C75B2FA,1,bootcmd 0,56*0B
Hope it helps.
