Re: Beneteau Oceanis Electrical Panel - Faults?

How did you manage to open the inspection ports? Did you have a special tool? Mine seem super-tight and look as if they need a very large "+" shaped tool to unscrew them...

Re: Beneteau Oceanis Electrical Panel - Faults?

Hi all - I have had the same problems and eventually it seems I need a replacement of the LED display PC board. Can anyone please help me locate a Beneteau spare parts dealer in Italy or France that can supply me with a replacement - trying to find a dealer in Italy who understands English is challenging - I find the Beneteau website useless for spare parts. Help!

Re: Beneteau Oceanis Electrical Panel - Faults?

Hi cruisers - I have tried to repair my VDO display unit back in South Africa without success. I will be returning to my yacht in Greece in a couple of months time and should order a replacement - can anyone in Europe (the Med) advise me where to order the part, as it is particular to Beneteau. There are a lot of these units around and many give problems, and I'm wondering if it would not be a better to fit separate gauges - a Volt/amp meter, a fuel gauge and water tank gauge. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a bad ground on the mast common lead for the deck/steaming light, or two of the three leads interchanged - probably the deck & ground leads.

The steaming light may be using the deck light as a ground return (the higher wattage bulb has lower resistance so doesn't light visibly). When the deck light alone is on, it feeds the other panel light via the steaming bulb filament.

Been there, done that, saw that the rigger missed that brown is hot, blue ground, in Euro wiring harnesses.

Re: Beneteau Oceanis Electrical Panel - Faults?

I've had no problems with my VDO panel so far, all works fine. However I've ordered many weird and wonderful parts for the boat from Fox's Yachts in Ipswich. UK. They send the parts to me in the UK direct from Beneteau France so I assume could do the same for you.

And yes Redline you are correct. Fixed the lighting issue some time ago now. Some muppet had mixed all the wiring up. All sorted now.Thanks.

Re: Beneteau Oceanis Electrical Panel - Faults?

Reseting your VDO: I pulled this from another forum and it absolutely worked. Posting here to help some poor soul searching for this answer. To clarify, the panel reading was 13.8 on the main and the panel would not switch to show other readings such as water and fuel. I simply unplugged and replugged this and BOOM! It worked and i am NOT Busting Out Another Thousand (BOAT)
