Actually the one from NASA (UK company not the space agency...)
has a nice screen that shows you the pressure as number together with a graph with the speed of rise/fall of the air pressure set in time. Much more useful then the screen in the picture

Re: Barograph features

I have the same unit, purchased about 10 years ago through Weems & Plath in the U.S. W&P dropped the unit shortly thereafter, and the instructions I had referenced a German company as the OEM. I was not able to locate that company and assumed it had gone out of business. That was a shame as my unit promised a USB interface for NMEA output with a later release of the firmware. Now, thanks to Monte, I discover it is really made by a French company and still is in business. I should have guessed that as the default language on initial power up is French.

This has been a very useful device, even though I've had to adjust the pressure tendency warnings to avoid them going off for normal diurnal pressure changes. Also changing batteries is a PITA, but it works fine off 12VDC.

I'm trying to find the VION company on the net, but all I get are the resellers, which don't provide a lot of info on the current product. I'd like to find out if they ever implemented the USB NMEA interface and if a firmware upgrade is available for my old instrument.

Anyone have a contact point for VION. On the net perferably so I could communicate in English, as my French is pretty disfunctional.

John

Re: Barograph features

I have a Maretron wind & weather sensor that does barometric pressure. It is then up to a display to draw a graph and my Maretron display does a great job while the Furuno does not.

If use the barometer with other device from this company - Voyage recorder, values are written to the sd-card. And use the free software you can generate and print the logboook for you vessel with all the values from the NMEA 2000 network, including pressure
