A Transducer is a Transducer, Correct?

Want to make sure my thinking is correct. The B45 Airmar transducer is the same no matter what brand unit it is hooked up to, Garmin or Raymarine. I need the 7/8" stem for my cat rehab and the Garmin B45 which matches my 541s has a temp unit around 245.00. I have no need for the temperature. The Raymarine B45 sells around 175.00 without the temp sender. Ok to mix and match?

Part two: even though this is a thru hull transducer, designed to protrude from the hull in a fairing house, I plan to embed flush into the hull and shoot thru 1/4 solid glass/epoxy. This is the only solution I can come up with on my sharp v hull with about 6" wide keel. All comments are appreciated.

Different transducers have different frequencies ,should shoot through the glass.marc

The fairing supplied is designed to be cut to suit the dead rise angle.

Do not want protruding transducer, must be flush on these narrow hulls. Will not be fairing to the outside of the hull.

Also trying for clarification, if you have a transducer installed and you want to switch from Raymarine products to Garmin for example, do you have to get a new transducer. They sell the B45 for both products, is there an internal difference sending back to the plotter?
